Tim Wood
“The Golden Age of Plant Breeding"
Tim will highlight advances in shrub breeding and the people that developed them.
Biography:
Tim Wood is a horticulturist and strategic thinker who helps plant breeders, growers, landscape designers, retailers, and consumers discover the value of new and better woody plants that solve problems.
Tim earned both bachelor's and master's degrees in horticulture from Michigan State University. He held various horticulture positions before coming to Spring Meadow Nursery in 1996.
With the talented team at Spring Meadow, Tim has had the pleasure of creating and growing the Proven Winners Color Choice woody plant brand in North America and then expanding it worldwide. His work includes plant hunting to plant breeding, patenting to plant breeders' rights, marketing to public relations, web development to social media networking, and licensing to international business partnerships.
Tim says, “It all emanates from my love for plants and people, and the relationship between the two."
